Forums, Ezines and AdSense Traffic

Forum participation

Forum participation can be a laborious process. However, it is an essential part of any off-page optimization campaign. This is because search engines give some credence to the links, post and profile pages of forum users. Regularly posting to forums related to your AdSense topic can give a little boost to your overall page ranking. To make the most of forums remember to:
  • Do a preliminary search of the most popular forums related to your topic of interest. The higher they are ranked the more popular they should be.
  • Don’t be a periphery member of a forum. Sign up properly and create a profile page that contains a link to your website or blog. Don’t forget to use your keywords when putting your profile page together.
  • Don’t join more than five forums (who has the time to join more than five anyway?) But joining too many diminishes the value of the links connected to the same domain. Search engines are always on the lookout for spam-like behaviour.
  • Most importantly of all, give sensible advice to questions and queries. Common sense stuff, really. Giving ridiculous answers only tarnishes your reputation. So be helpful and informative and if possible steer your advice back to your AdSense website or blog.

Ezine articles submission

Not only are ezines good for acquiring quality material for your site, they can also be used to distribute your links to other websites and gain some AdSense traffic. Ezines are basically free, so it is crucial that you make the most of what it can offer. The way to make the most of article sites is to:
  • Create a good niche orientated article that is about 1,500 words long.
  • Choose up to seven high page ranking, quality article sites and post.
  • Make sure that your article is well constructed for article sites. Remember to include; publishing guidelines, keywords and a resource box that states your name and links to your blog or website.
  • Tell the world your article is available for use by announcing it. It will of course get noticed naturally in the sites you submitted it to, but you could boost the process by using something like Yahoo!’s Groups. Yahoo! Groups gives you the platform to tell those in the know that your article is ready through RSS feeds and email feeds. Here’s a small list of some announcement platforms:

Create good quality articles

Using articles is a good way of acquiring back links to your site. The inclusion of a resource box in all your articles and all it reproductions, ensures that the links to your site will continue to grow as long as your articles are copied. And of course, if your articles are good enough, some people will naturally follow them to your site, bringing you some residual AdSense traffic.  This is a great incentive for you to create good quality articles and submit as many articles as possible to ezine sites.
